Tane(Boys and Men's)
●Maro Style or Pareo(Tihere) Style.
●Naked to the waist and must have head accessories.
●You can use fresh flowers or artificial flowers on your head or neck.
●Please don’t wear leg accessories.
Vahine(Girls and Women's)
●Pareo Style (All Rounds)
(No MORE skirts for this competition.)
●Tie the Pareo at your waist. You can use plain or printed pareo.
●Please don’t wear hip band or tassels.
●Please wear the brassiere (coconuts or clothe bra)
at your upper half of the body and wear the head accessories.
●You can use fresh flowers or artificial flowers on your head or neck.

Solo Competition

This competition is men and women's Solo competition. It has the some categories by competitors'age.
* It may be change the age categories because of number of entry. -
The judgement has the Qualifying round (1st and 2nd round) and the Final round. Only upper score dancers can enter the final round.

The dancers will dance with live drumming on the stage.
【 1st/2nd Round * 】
1st/2nd round, drummers will play a 60-90 second drum beat. Final round beat will be played live,
and not available on CD that you received of drumming beats.
【 Final Round * 】
Final round, drummers will play a 90-120 second drum beat. Final round beat will be played live,
and not available on CD that you received of drumming beats.
Duo/Quintette Competition

This category has 2 categories.

One couple team will show their performance on stage.
Group Competition

1 team over 5 dancers and within 10 dancers.

This competition has 3 age categories.

No assigned music. * Please send your music CD or MP3 data to the Tahiti Fete Office in advance.

The performance time is maximum 8 mins and must include entrance and exit.
Judgements
Solo Competition(1st Round)
①Costume
Wear Traditional Tahitian costumes.
*Deduction of points if judges see your underwear.
*Please ask the office if you have questions about your costume.
②Basic steps
Traditional Tahitian basics.
②Drum beat
as well as step and hand combinations in time and rhythm to the drum beat.
Solo Competition(Final Round)
①COSTUME
Creative, neat, & according to standards
※Costume judging will not be conducted in the final round; costume scores from the 1st round will be carried over.
※The Most Creative Costume Award will be selected during the final round,
please wear the same costume as in the 1st round.
②TRADITIONAL STEPS
The coordination & execution of traditional steps and movement
of the feet, legs, knees, arms, hands & hips, impromptu & according to the beat of the drums.
③CREATIVITY
Original use of steps, as well as step and hand combinations in time and rhythm to the drum beat.
④STAMINA&ENDURANCE
The ability to sustain proper dance execution and energy throughout the performance.
⑤OVERALL PRESENTATION
Poise, stamina, timing, coordination, and execution.
Duo/Quintette Competition
①COSTUME
Creative, neat, & appropriate to couple presentation
②CHOREOGRAPHY&EXECUTION
The use of traditional steps and hand combinations synchronized as a couple
and executed with precision in accordance with the beats, rhythms, and theme of the couple presentation.

Creative use of traditional steps and hand combinations as a couple.
④OVERALL PRESENTATION
Judge’s overall impression.
